Hippo Hollow Country Estate is a comfortable, family-friendly hotel situated on the banks of the Sabie River near Hazyview.

Situated just ten minutes from Kruger National Park, Hippo Hollow Country Estate offers comfortable, family-friendly accommodation in Mpumalanga Hazyview set within tranquil indigenous gardens. Hippo Hollow offers a selection of thatched Deluxe Chalets, River Chalets, Garden Chalets and our more traditional Standard Rooms. All rooms and chalets have en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, tea/coffee facilities and are furnished with touches of local wood and traditional elements.

The rooms are situated on an estate featuring beautifully maintained gardens and two swimming pools, bordered by the winding Sabie River which is home to a wonderful variety of bird species, hippo, crocodiles, monkeys and even elephants from Elephant Whispers. The newly refurbished Chalets feature fresh fittings and furnishings, spacious modern ensuite bathrooms, coffee stations with mini-bar fridges, generously sized air-conditioned bedrooms complete with vanity areas and ample storage space, with electronic safes large enough to accommodate laptops.

Hippo Hollow Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily from a regularly updated à la carte menu, which delivers new and innovative ways to present local seasonal food at its best. The lunch menu features a selection of salads, light meals, pizzas and grill menu items to tickle your tastebuds as well as a kid’s menu to keep the little ones happy.
